Josephine W. Armuth
Josephine was an Indiana University graduate, and was a lifelong educator in Bartholomew County schools, spanning six decades. She was a history teacher, and later dean of girls at Columbus High School, where she mentored hundreds of students and assisted with a multitude of student activities from 1942 to 1970.
She was president of the State of Indiana Dean’s Association, and was a member of Who’s Who of American Teachers. She was inducted to the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation Education Hall of Fame in 1986.
Beginning in 1974, an award given in her name was given to a CNHS senior girl athlete who displays outstanding mental attitude, scholarship and citizenship.
