Michael (Mike) Garber was a 1986 graduate of Columbus North. Mike was tragically killed in an automobile accident in March of 2015.
Mike was a 1990 graduate of Kenyon College and a graduate of Johnson & Wales Culinary School and did all of the academic work for a master of gastronomy degree at Boston University.
In addition to his love of cooking, Mike had an extensive interest in education issues after spending several years in the field of education policy. He was also a Fellow of the Hudson Institute and was employed with the State of Michigan Superintendent of Public Instruction.
To honor his memory, his family (in conjunction with the Bull Dog Alumni Association) has established a scholarship fund in his name. Due to Mike’s many and varied interests, the area this scholarship will serve may vary from year-to-year.
