The Indiana Sports Hall of Fame held its inaugural dinner in Evansville with over 250 people in attendance. Among the inductees? Our own Sam Simmermaker was one of the honored guests. This is quite an honor and it is his fifth (5th) HOF induction.
Jenna Lang, Columbus North’s all-time leading scorer, has been selected to play in the High School All-American Game for girls soccer. Lang sustained a season-ending knee injury late in the regular season. She is hoping to be ready, but most likely will not be able to play in the All-American Game, which will be Dec. 11 at Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was the only girl from Indiana selected.
While the top-ranked Bull Dogs didn’t collect both team titles, they did come away with one team and one individual victory. Senior Reese Kilbarger-Stumpff was a surprise winner in the boys' race, and the North girls pulled out the team championship at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
