Hey Bull Dogs – and Bull Dog parents, teachers, friends, and relatives of all ages – what are you doing on Friday, May 30th? Graduation Day, Memorial Day and Race Day will all be over and it will be time to kick-start your summer with a relaxing and fun Friday stroll around the Columbus Par 3 golf course with three of your favorite people!

The Bull Dog Alumni Association is holding our 2nd annual Par 3 Scramble golf tournament on Friday, May 30th. The outing raises money for Alumni Association scholarships, grants for student and teacher assistance, and our Teacher Appreciation Program.

The outing is open to all – and the Scramble format at the Columbus Par 3 Course allows golfers of all ages and skill levels to have fun and score well (especially if you purchase the Birdie package). Think about the possibilities of putting together your own “dream team”:

  • Four friends from your graduating class?
  • A “mixed doubles” team with your spouse and another couple?
  • A multi-generational family team? (Note: weird old uncles are allowed).
  • Just you and your kids?
  • Father/son, Mother/daughter, Father/daughter, Mother/son combos?
  • Last year we had only one female participant – How about some all-female teams this year?

Not only will you get 2 hours of quality time with your foursome, but there will be time to mingle with other participants over lunch. Participants can choose to golf in the morning flight (9:00 AM to 11:00 AM) or the afternoon flight (1:30 PM to 3:30 PM).  Lunch is included in your registration fee and will be available (from the Party Chef food truck) in the Big Tent between 11:00 and 1:00. Last year I played in the morning and wandered around the course watching (and heckling) the afternoon players…

Many thanks to our eight very generous event sponsors!

  • Barkes, Weaver, and Glick Funeral Home & Crematory
  • Case Construction
  • Cornerstone Development
  • Bob Hendershot Farm Bureau Insurance
  • Honeymoon Hauling
  • Hoosier Air Transport
  • Peter King Law
  • Prime Capital Financial

Additionally, when you participate in the outing you will see tee box signs thanking our individual and corporate hole sponsors. If you or your company missed the deadline for sponsorships, but are still interested, email Eric at eric.notestine@hotmail.com .

Age-appropriate cold liquid refreshment will be available on the course and every participant will receive a sleeve of golf balls courtesy of Steve Andress and EnviroMax. In addition, there will be a Hole-in-one contest ($1000 to a winner) and a closest to the pin contest (with a prize for morning and afternoon flights).  The Winning Team (best total score for 18 holes) will also receive a valuable prize and bragging rights until our 2026 event.

We are expecting a much larger crowd this year – so make sure to register your foursome (or twosome) soon to assure that you have reserved a spot in your chosen flight. Registration closes on May 23rd – but don’t wait until then!

Special Note: At least one team is planning to show their solidarity by wearing “team shirts”. If you or your team would like to sport “official” Bull Dog golf shirts (collared Royal Blue polo shirts in Men’s, Men’s Tall and Women’s sizes) you can order them on our new on-line store – The Bull Dog Zone. For delivery (or pick up at The Tony London Company) prior to the May 30th Golf Outing, you must order by May 12th. Order at: The Bull Dog Zone .
