Can you believe it’s been 50 years since 513 vivacious young adults in the Columbus North Class of 1975 accepted their diplomas in Memorial Gymnasium?

Make your plans now to return to Columbus, reminisce about the good times (at our age it’s easy to forget about the not-so-good ones) – and celebrate the Golden Anniversary of our graduation with some of your classmates!

The Class of ’75 is planning a fun-filled weekend of reunion activities on August 29th and 30th for any and all ’75 grads (and their significant others – should they choose to tag along).

50th Reunion Community Gift

The Class Reunion Steering Committee believes it would be a great gesture to make a significant class donation to an organization in our local community. After several discussions, we have chosen the Love Chapel in Columbus to support.

For those who may not be familiar with Love Chapel, the organization provides food pantry, emergency shelter, financial assistance and other support services to people in our community in need of assistance. In 2024, Love Chapel served more than 15,000 individuals with these much-needed services. For more information, you can go to www.columbuslovechapel.com.

As the need for these services continues to grow, Love Chapel has started to outgrow its existing food pantry/office spaces. As part of its long-range strategic plan, Love Chapel is looking at alternatives to meet its future space needs. While no specific plans have been decided, additional funding will be needed to support the organization’s needs. In addition, Love Chapel is exploring the feasibility of developing a hydroponic garden to provide more fresh produce for its food pantry clients.

We want to be one of the initial contributors to Love Chapel’s capital fund to help support these projects. A small group of our Class of 1975 have already gotten together and pledged to contribute more than $10,000 to this effort. Our goal is to raise more than $25,000 in total towards this worthy cause.

There are three ways for you to contribute should you be willing to help.

  • Visit https://givebutter.com/CNHS1975Campaign to make an on-line donation.
  • Go to our Class Reunion event site at Eventbrite and click on the “Donation to Love Chapel” link.
  • Donations will also be accepted at the Reunion itself.

Love Chapel is a 501(c)(3) Public Charity (FEIN 35-6226589) and donations are tax- deductible. Love Chapel is listed in some charitable giving sites by its formal legal name – the Ecumenical Assembly of Bartholomew County Churches, Inc.

We would appreciate your consideration to support this very important organization in Columbus.
